Whether you are on a short trip or operating a ship continuously, you need hygienically clean drinking water on board. membraclean drinking water treatment for marine use disinfects and preserves the water taken on board and gradually breaks down biofilm in the treated water system.

Treating the system as you take on water

You can apply the product when taking on water. Add the required quantity of membraclean to the fresh water tank, then fill it with water. Opening the outlets allows the treated water to pass through the pipes, pump, water heater and fittings.

This includes the entire route from the tank to the tap in the treatment. You do not have to dismantle water-carrying components simply to bring the active substance into contact with their internal surfaces. This makes regular water hygiene on board easier.

Tackling germs and biofilm

Different filling points, hoses, connections and longer periods at berth affect water hygiene on board. Microorganisms settle on tank walls and in pipes, forming biofilm. From there, they can contaminate the water again.

membraclean acts against bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores. It also tackles Legionella and Pseudomonas and gradually breaks down the biofilm layer. Continuous use also treats the new water added each time you refill.

Drinking water without added silver

Our drinking water treatment for marine use contains neither silver, silver ions nor silver nitrate. At the intended dose, the treated drinking water remains neutral in taste and odour. You can use it for drinking, cooking, washing and showering.

The active substance, active chlorine released from hypochlorous acid, is produced from water and salt in our electrolytic manufacturing process. Made in Germany, the product combines a broad spectrum of activity with good material compatibility.

For leisure boats and commercial shipping

The range is suitable for motorboats, sailing boats, yachts and leisure craft, as well as inland vessels, ferries, tugboats and passenger ships. Different container sizes meet the needs of small onboard tanks and larger water systems.

For complex installations, we discuss the dose and treatment of the volume actually used as drinking water with you. Dosing equipment can provide automatic injection.

The start of the season and your ongoing water supply

After winter storage or longer periods at berth, the priority is to clean and restore the water system. Regular drinking water treatment then becomes part of taking on water.

Clean filling equipment, well-maintained connections and servicing of the technical components complete the process. In commercial shipping, the required drinking water checks and laboratory tests continue to be carried out.

Container sizes to match your consumption

Handy bottles are practical for small tanks and short trips. For larger water volumes and regular operation, larger containers and multipacks provide a supply you can plan around. With several individual containers, you only open the quantity you currently need.

For ongoing treatment at 2 ml per litre of drinking water, 1 litre of product treats up to 500 litres of water. Information on cleaning and restoration, and the treatment capacity of each container, is provided with the individual product.
